ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support our Border Control projects, working closely with customers, development teams, and stakeholders to understand and refine requirements. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements, ensuring the successful development and delivery of border control solutions such as eGates, Kiosks, eVisa Systems, and Declaration Systems.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Requirement Analysis & Stakeholder Communication
- Work closely with customers and stakeholders to gather, understand, and clarify business requirements for Border Control projects.
- Act as a liaison between customers and the development team, ensuring all requirements are clearly defined.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in customer requirements and recommend solutions.
Backlog Management & Documentation
- Create and maintain a product backlog in Azure DevOps, ensuring all customer requirements are properly captured.
- Conduct refinement sessions with the development team to break down requirements into user stories.
- Write detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure all requirements are well-documented for development, testing, and customer approvals.
Development Support & Quality Assurance
- Review and approve development work to ensure it meets business requirements.
- Work with the QA team to validate requirements during testing phases.
- Ensure that the team is developing the right features aligned with customer expectations.
Process & Workflow Documentation
- Create workflow diagrams, process models, and system flowcharts to illustrate how the solutions will function.
- Document business processes and technical implementations for future reference.
Customer Engagement & Demos
- Conduct customer demos to showcase features and progress.
- Gather customer feedback and incorporate necessary changes into the backlog.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, and Engineers to align development with business needs.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency in requirement gathering and delivery.
End-User Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Support or conduct end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions to ensure effective system use.
Change Control & Impact Analysis
- Manage requirement changes, assess impact, update documentation, and communicate scope or timeline adjustments to stakeholders. Ensuring there is no scope creep
Collaboration with UI/UX Designers
- Ensure solutions are user-friendly for immigration officers and travellers by working with UI/UX designers.
Usability Testing & Refinement
- Participate in usability testing and feedback sessions to refine the system.
Incident Handling & Support Coordination
Work with support teams to resolve post-deployment application support L3 issues.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in software development or border control solutions.
- Strong experience in requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar backlog management tools.
- Ability to create workflow diagrams, process models, and system documentation.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in conducting requirement refinement sessions with development teams.
- Ability to review and validate development work against business needs.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience in Border Control, Immigration, or Government IT projects.
- Knowledge of biometric authentication, passport verification, and eVisa systems.
- Understanding of API integrations and data flows in border security solutions.
- Experience in writing technical implementation documents.
