As Analyst Revenue Optimisation within Cargo, youll provide insights and analysis into Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s price, revenue and inventory functions. You’ll also develop mechanisms and tools which enable continuous evaluation, benchspaning and implementation of our network-wide strategies.


Activities fall into 2 main areas, 1) Pricing and Inventory Optimisation and 2) Systems, Processes and Tools.

Pricing and Inventory Optimisation:

  • Provide analysis, insight and recommendations to Revenue Optimisation organisation on how we improve our decision making, the optimisation of VAC asset and our price position
  • Monitor rate movements in the spanet through analysis of route and competitor activity, present insights and make recommendations for changes to published tariffs that ensure VAC’s pricing positioning in the spanet is optimal and in line with pricing strategies
  • Coordinate internal inputs and external responses to RFPs received from customers
  • Coordinate the seasonal pricing reviews process, working with Sales Managers and Revenue Optimisation Managers to ensure a smooth execution
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of the capacity we make available for commercial sale, regularly reviewing the various systems inputs to ensure they’re fit for purpose and making recommendations on any relevant flexors that need to be deployed

    Systems, Processes and Tools:

  • Work on and own assigned projects on tools, systems or process improvement related initiatives including planning, research, and implementation to deliver to successful conclusion
  • Assist with the development and management of internal Revenue Optimisation owned tools
  • Assist with reviewing effectiveness of Revenue Optimisation team against internal and external benchspans on inventory and price
  • Responsible for data integrity and processes in 3rd party Revenue Optimisation Systems
  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision of outsourced resource with respect to all activity related to Cargo’s Revenue Optimisation function

Do you have an analytical background with a record of using data to drive change and guide decision making? Are you a creative problem solver with the ability to use organisational skills to prioritise and multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment? Then this could be the role for you!

  • Alongside the above were looking for the following to be successful in this role:
  • Experience within Aviation or Cargo is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and present insights clearly.
  • Confident using Excel, including Lookups and Pivot Tables.
  • Practical experience with SQL and using it to extract and manipulate data.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) is desirable.
  • Able to communicate complex information in a clear, structured way to different audiences.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Revenue Management processes and systems is an advantage.
