STS Engine Services is hiring an experienced Management Accountant to join our team in Stansted. This is a hands-on, full-cycle accounting role with broad responsibility across reporting, analysis, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead financial operations in a fast-paced aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Balance sheet recs: bank recs, accruals etc
- Posting journals in relation to these recs
- Preparation of monthly management accounts pack
- Presentation of the management accounts to the Senior Leadership Team
- AR receipts and posting
- Aged debt, credit control
- Debtors cashflow
- AP invoice approvals
- VAT returns
- Full ownership of audit requests and statutory accounts requests
- Assistance with the P11D processing
- Payroll posting
- Review of budgets to actuals
- Accounts reviews, GL postings analysis, miss postings etc
- Assistance with budgeting, forecasts
- Assistance with onsite ad hoc finance requests – e.g. utility/energy usage
- Project, customer, sales stream profitability reviewing and reporting
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar all-round Finance role is essential, aviation experience is a bonus but not essential.
- Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Practice experience preferred
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure.
- Demonstrable experience of working with care and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience of using financial management software (ideally Sage Line 50).
- Highly numerate with an analytical mindset.
- Experience working with and between different currencies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Used to working confidentially and with integrity.
- Must be flexible and willing to assist where required due to business requirements.
- Present and behave in ways that are appropriate to the image and reputation of the business, its products and services.
